A. A total of four characters can be made per account/user ID
Q. I cannot create a character with the specific name that I want.
A. If someone already has the same character name, you cannot create it. You may try some variation of the name to see if it works.
Q. I want to completely remove LastChaos.
A. To completely remove Last Chaos, go to Windows control panel and select add/remove program (start > Setup > Control panel > Program add/remove). Once the add/remove program window opens select Last Chaos from the list of programs and press remove.
Q. What's reflection effect? And filtering effect?
A. Reflection effect refers to the game's use of light and shadow to show mirror or reflected images in other objects. This adds more detail and realism to the world of Last Chaos. Filtering effect is a so-called photoshop effect that makes the graphics of Last Chaos appear "cleaner: and brighter, for more enjoyable game play.
Q. I can't have reflection effect and filtering effect turned on!
A. This may be because the specification of your computer is below the recommended specifications, so some of the game settings have been automatically turned off to enable your computer system to run the game. When the system is above the recommended specification, all options will become available.
Q. Is it possible to play the game in a window mode?
A. Yes, it is possible. You can modify it in the video/ display options tab within the game. In this mode, you can not change brightness/contrast settings.
Q. In the game, either my character or the monsters is not seen or shown as white.
A. This is a problem that is usually caused by running the game on a system that is below the recommended specifications. The computer cannot handle all the data being transmitted and some graphics data has been lost. If you upgrade your computer to meet or exceed that of the recommended specifications, you will be able to play the game in a smooth gaming environment
Q. How to do I take a screen shot?
A. If you want to take a screen shot while gaming, press Print Screen beside F12 and the saved shot will be found in folder Screenshot folder of your Last Chaos folder. By default this is set to: C:\Program Files\LastChaos\ScreenShot.
Q. I can't connect to the server and a message appears with "Timeout".
A. Either your connection is slow or the game server is experiencing some connection problems, probably due to an overload of simultaneous connections. Try exiting the game and reconnecting after a brief period of time.
Q. I am experiencing a lot of lag, is there any way to improve game performance?
A. First try to change to a small screen resolution (such as 800 x 600) in the video/display options and minimizing the reflection and filtering effects. You should see an improvement in performance after this, if not, then try minimizing everything in the Option setup menu.
Q. How can I check my computer's specification?
A. On your Window’s desktop screen, click on Start -> Run, then type in dxdiag in the run dialog screen. If the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window is open it will display your processor/CPU and memory status in the System Window Tab, while the video card type and specification is included in the Display Window tab.
Q. What are the recommended specifications for Last Chaos?
A. Last Chaos installation requires approximately 700 Mb of free space on your hard drive. To view the current available disk space on your PC, double-click on 'My Computer' icon on your desktop.

Q. Q. When I run the game, all I see is a black screen and there is no response!
A. This is a problem that is usually caused by running the game on a system that is below recommended specifications. If you upgrade your computer to meet or exceed that of the recommended specifications, you will be able to play the game in a smooth gaming environment.
Q. My graphic card is RIVA TNT2. Can I play the game?
A. The RIVA TNT2 level graphics card is not supported, so connecting to the game is not possible. If you upgrade your computer to meet or exceed that of the recommended specifications, you will be able to play the game in a smooth gaming environment.
Q. After abnormal exit, "ID already in use" keeps appearing.
A. Your abnormal exit of the game may not have allowed the server to clear your login record, therefore you are still seen as already being logged into the game. Try exiting the game completely and then logging in again.
Q. I started LC, patched fine, but when I login, I got "Failed to connect to login server"
A. There are several possible causes and solutions:
- Check that you downloaded LC USA version from the mirrors.
- If you use PeerGuardian, you must either disable it or allow LC to make connections.
- If you use firewall or Norton, make sure LC is allowed to connect to the internet.
- Check that the servers are not under maintenance from here.
Q. I use Windows Vista, and patching failed
A. There are several ways to get LC to run in Vista:
- Right click the LC short cut or LC.exe, choose Properties, click on Compatibility Tab, check "Run as Administrator"
- Alternatively, you can right click LC short cut (or LC.exe) and choose "Run as Administrator".
- You can move the entire LC folder outside of C:\Program Files. NOTE: You must change the short-cut path accordingly. This method is only recommended for some one who is more comfortable using Windows.
Q. I got a "Virtual alloc error". What do I do?
A. You may have insufficient virtual memory (page). To increase virtual memory, go to Control Panel, click on System. In System Properties tab, choose Advanced tab and click Settings under Performance. In Performance Options, choose Advanced tab. Under Virtual Memory, click Change. You should choose virtual memory size of about 1.5 to 2 times your physical memory. For example, if you have 1Gb of RAM, you should have 1.5Gb of virtual memory. Since virtual memory uses hard disk, defrag your hard disk may increase LC performance.
Q. Where can I get more help?
A. The forum is a great place to get help from our wonderful and active community.
