Are you prepared to take your gear to a whole new level? Refining stones are great but did you know there is another way to improve the power of your gear? This guide will teach you the fundamentals of an all new system: The Socket System.

This exciting new system allows you to add awesome new powers to any piece of gear in Last Chaos! Follow this guide and you'll be adding sockets, melding jewels and combining jewels in no time!

Scrolls Explained

Scrolls are used to add sockets to gear. There are a variety of scrolls with different success rates and different socket potential. Some of the scrolls are sold by the Socket Manager so visit him to start the process. While 5 scrolls are known to exist, ancient tablets describe a series of Legendary Scrolls hidden throughout Iris. The number of sockets and probability of a successful socketing occurring increase with higher level scrolls. Once a scroll is obtained, the Socket Manager in Juno will need the scroll as well as the piece of gear that you wish to be socketed. Please note a scroll may only be applied once to a piece of gear. If you wish to apply a second scroll, you will need to purchase a One More Card!

The One More Card

A special item exists that gives you the ability to apply multiple scrolls to a single item. This item is called the One More Card and can be used on any piece of socketed gear.

    How it works

  1. Select a piece of gear with sockets already applied.
  2. Remove any melded jewels with the help of the Socket Manager in Juno.
  3. Select the card and drag the piece of gear into the window.
  4. You can now apply another scroll to that piece of gear!

    Important notes

  • The card can be used multiple times on a single piece of gear.
  • A card may not be applied to gear with the maximum number of sockets.
  • One card gives you one socket chance, additional attempts will require more cards.
  • The card does not remove sockets, it only allows additional socketing attempts.

Jewels Explained

Jewels are special items that can be melded to socketed gear with exciting effects! Jewels are melded to sockets by the Socket Manager in Juno. It is important to remember that you can only meld a jewel to socketed gear. There are a variety of jewels with different effects at different levels. A jewel's power increases with its level. The highest level a jewel can reach is level 3 but it is rumored that a level 4 or even 5 may exist. Keep an eye out because jewels drop from monsters all across Iris!

Additional Melding & Removing Jewels

It is very important to carefully consider your jewel selection when melding. Once a socket has been melded, applying another jewel to the same socket will require you to remove the original jewel. For example, if a piece of gear has a melded ruby in socket one, placing an emerald in socket one will require the ruby to be removed first. The Socket Manager in Juno will remove the melded jewels for a fee, but the process of removing jewels will destroy them! So don't meld jewels without thinking first!

Combining Jewels

Another exciting thing about jewels is that you can combine them! By combining jewels, you can create whole new jewels of different types and higher levels. Jewels are combined two at a time and require a stabilizer to merge. The always helpful Socket Manager of Juno is who you'll need to speak to if you want to merge jewels. The different stabilizers offer better upgrade potential based on their level. It is important to note that stabilizers can only increase a jewel up to level 3. Level 4 and 5 jewels must be obtained using other means.
